Irritating beyond belief

Burrrp..in front of me and just thank God that I don't have a gun..otherwise, I could shoot you dead...!!!

I hate when people burp in public.. Yucckkk... why can't they just burp quietly or just cover their mouth..?? Do they have to let the whole world know that they are burping?

Correct me if I'm wrong but it's mostly the guys that burp shamelessly in the public. No offense.. Burping is very common and there's nothing wrong with it. Even we girls burp, but never in front of everyone. I think we are better behaved in this case.. :)

But I did come across a lady team mate who burped away to glory...Eeeewwwk..!!!

I once had gone out with a group of friends for dinner and there was this one guy whom I was meeting for the first time and who kept burping at least a dozen times...I couldn't eat a nibble...!!

My request to all the guys.. Please don't burp in front of others, especially the girls... even if some girl likes you they would keep away if you burp in front of them...So next time you feel like burping, just cover your mouth and burp quietly so that no one hears it....If it's too bad and you accidentally burp, then a "excuse me or a "sorry" could help if not worse.... :)

So, Happy noBurrrping..!!!!

House arrest

"North East people's Exodus from Bangalore"..... is what was flashed in the news for the whole of last week...People from all over the NE were seen fleeing from Bangalore...reason..? Apparently, some Muslims threatened people from NE to leave Bangalore....If not, they would be attacked after Ramzan...

And the result of this... ???

Confusion, fear, anxiety......and my HOUSE ARREST....

Since I hailed from the North Eastern state of Tripura, I was advised by my friends, colleagues and parents not to leave the house for at least 2 to 3 days after Eid...What?? Impossible?? I despise being at home and that too, for 2-3 days? I will go mad...

But my manager had called me and my team mate and asked us to "work from home" for as long as a week keeping the current situation in mind...Wow, that is nice but not being able to go out was objectionable... Though working from home can be fun (as I mentioned in my previous post), it can get very boring if you are not able to go out....this was same as a HOUSE ARREST...grrrr...

At just the end of 2 days, I gave up and returned to work the 3rd day...

I'm glad it was over...I'm glad the situation has improved and the rumors have sufficed....I know not much about what was the real cause of this situation but all I want to ask is -Are Indians so lame as to be influenced by caste, creed and place of birth? And it's your country. You can chose where to live and not run away when someone chases you.... You should be able to stand upright and say "This is my country and it's my right to live wherever I want to...."

The weird things that I like

The WEIRDO that I am, I like weird things...Since I was a kid, I've liked things which others don't.. done things I was asked NOT to do...and NOT done things that I was ASKED to...that's ME...!!!

I love the smell of PETROL and I'm sure I'm not the only one but it's WEIRD....!!! Every time I'm in a petrol station I ask the guys there to put a drop of it on my finger while they are filling the petrol in the bikes (cars excluded) so that I can smell it... I have stopped doing it these days, don't want to embarrass my friends...

I love the smell of new books... I remember when I was in school and every time the new books were distributed, I would smell the books of almost everyone in the class.....This is one of the reasons I MISS SCHOOL more...

I love the smell of KEROSENE....when we grew up in the village and used the Kerosene Lanterns, I liked smelling the fumes coming out of it... :) I don't know why mum applied kerosene whenever we had sprains. I once sprained my hands and mum had applied kerosene on it. I placed my hand near my nose and had a good sleep...

I love the smell of the smoke coming out from an auto rickshaw during the earlier days. Nowadays they use LPG for running autos and I therefore, haven't smelled that "old auto-rickshaw smoke days" for long...I used to run behind the autos as a child to smell the smoke......

I love the smell of PAINT....if there is anything that's being painted, you will find me standing there and smelling it...!!!

I love the smell of a MARKER pen. Every time I have to use it while I'm in office especially the Glass board markers, I end up being INTOXICATED each time...

I love the smell of a NAIL POLISH.. every time I apply it, I smell my nails...!!!

So, what am I smelling today....??? Nail Polish..It's weekend and it's time to change my Nail Colour.... :)

When I hate my sister

I love my sister... but not more than she does...unless she begs to differ... :P

We grew up together and then an fortunate (or unfortunate) thing happened...  we grew up to have similar vital stats.. and that's why the melancholy....

We share everything under the sun (apart from underwears and tooth brush)..and have common clothes and shoes..and most other things...I initially enjoyed it as we could buy many different things and share.. That way we could have variety in our dressing...

The first real problem arose when she joined the company where I worked which meant we couldn't share all the clothes...then we had to get ourselves different sets of clothes... clothes started to beg for space in our  wardrobe....

Then again, she changed her job and the sharing of clothes started all over again....but now, things have changed... she doesn't shop much these days and wears my clothes way too often....Grrrrr.....she's saving up money she reasons... What about me huh? I shop, you wear and you save...HUH....

Every other day when I've shopped for some new clothes, she calls me up and asks "sis, can I wear your new dress, I've got a party to attend".....First I shout at her and at the end of it I just give away....but if you ask me, I really don't want to...especially when I myself haven't worn it and had been saving it up for some special occasion myself.....I HATE HER WHEN SHE WEARS MY NEW CLOTHES....and she even gets pictures clicked and puts it up on Facebook...but what to do, sister after all..can't say much.....and after all that you know what she says?? "sis, you spend too much money on shopping and you never save"...

And by the way, she is my younger sister I'm talking about.....

The last time, I was saving up a watch which my boyfriend had got me from UK..I thought I would wear it for some special occasion and without asking me she wears it to office....Imagine my fury when I saw it on her hand when I met her in the office wash room.... I stood there and cried....really....!!! I hadn't wore it ever since.... I told her "Keep it"...

Last week I had bought a green off shoulder top and again, she calls me while I was at work asking if she could wear it as she was going to Kolkata....Could I say no??? No....

And most recent one, today. She calls me up and says that she wants my yellow bag.. Remember? It's the same one I had posted a picture of in one of my previous posts... I had saved that up for some occasion again....and I myself haven't carried it.... :(  Did I say no??? No...

But sis, I know you would never read this but all I want to say is "I HATE YOU WHEN YOU WEAR MY NEW CLOTHES (and many other things) WHICH I MYSELF HAVEN'T WORN....."

When I told this to one of my friends, he laughs and says "wear it before she gets to wear it.....then you won't have anything to complain about"...yeah, yeah.. wished it was that simple....

P.S:  But I wish my sister reads this so that she gets to know how I feel.

It happened to me

I had recently gone to the Passport office to apply for my passport. My slot was booked for 9:45 in the morning. My sister had told me that I don't have to carry my photographs as they would be clicking my picture there and then.

I obviously wanted a good picture of mine in the passport so I got up early in the morning, washed my hair and set it to look perfect. I also made sure I wore some makeup on my face so that my picture comes out nice.

My friend was dropping me on his bike and I had covered my hair with a scarf so that it doesn't tangle and spoil my perfectly done hair. I have a big, round face so I always keep my hair open. Tied hair or hair laid back would make my face look even bigger so I made sure I kept half of my face always covered with hair.

I reach the passport office and get to the counter where they would take my picture. And guess what, while clicking the picture, the photographer asks me to put my hair behind the ears as both the ears need to be visible. What the heck...!!!! I asked him why I should do that and he merely says "that's a rule. both ears need to be visible"...Now what kind of a rule is that..?? What can you make out of a person by looking at the ears... Crap...!!

To make matters worse and to make my picture worse, the person clicks my picture when I was not even ready and was still bearing that angry look on my face. Couldn't he just tell me to pose before he clicked?? I could have given the "million dollar smile".... :P

Damn, damn, damn... Now my picture looks like of a criminal, the same kind where it says "most wanted". A big face with an angry look... !!! Eeeewwww.....

Why can't they hire professional photographers I say....!!! Where we should be allowed to take the at least 3-4 pictures and the best one chosen to be in the passport... :P

Is anyone listening????

I'm not even so eager to get my passport now.... :(

Work from home: Yes or no??

While I'm writing this, I'm working from home... :) This is one good thing about working from home. I can do other things in between... I can chat with friends, be on Facebook and I can love what I love doing.. Blogging.. :P... I wouldn't have been able to do it had I been in office, working...

But is working from home always fun and convenient or the age-old tradition of working in an office more productive? Let's analyse both the sides of the coin... Work from home or work from office.. ??

Let me first give you the plus points of working from home... and the opinions expressed are clearly of my own.. :-

  • I can choose my own work station. Example, I can work while being on my bean bag, my bed, my TV room, my balcony.. The options are unlimited... you can come up with your own creative work station.. :P
P.S: It applies only when you have a Wi-fi connection.. :P
  •  You can choose your own work timings. Well, this won't apply to people who have a deadline to meet and depends on your work profile. For me, I can work anytime I choose to but I only have to complete it before 9pm IST which isn't rocket science.
  • I can take as many breaks and anytime I want to. I can take small unlimited breaks and small naps of course, in between... :)
  • I can watch TV while working, listen to loud music and work. Yes, I can concentrate better while listening to loud music.
  •  I can save up on the commuting hours. I need at least 2 hours to get ready before my cab picks me up. So, I save up at least 3 hours bearing in mind that I get picked 1 hour before my shift starts... :)
  • I don't have to take bath when I'm working from home because I won't be going out anywhere.... :) No no, it's not that I don't like taking bath or I like being unhygienic but I can take bath after completing my work and if I chose to go out with friends for a coffee... Then I freshen up ... :P
  • I can go out with friends for sometime if I get too bored working.. :P
So, as of now this is all I can think of about the benefits of working from home. Now let's talk about the not-so-good things about working from home:
  • You tend to get lazy and might end up not working at all or not being able to complete your work.
  •  If most of your best friends are in office, you will miss on going out for breaks with them.
  •  Your principle of "you should not bring work home"  will be lost. If you are married, your spouse would not appreciate if you work from home.. :P
I would like to conclude here saying that you should work from home only once in a while. Otherwise, you will end up being lazy....Too much of convenience at your side can be harmful... :)

The butterfly in me

I have always been fascinated by butterflies...It's most apparent by the name of my blog itself.. For those who don't know, titlee means butterfly. Butterflies, according to me are the most beautiful creatures....They definitely seem like angels carrying a bit of a rainbow in them....always gleaming in shades of orange, green, blue, almost every colour....Captivating beauty... and as you all know, I love colours...!!!

Sadly, since I've been in Bangalore I've never had the luck of seeing any....blame it on my busy life (if I may say) or just say that I've been to lazy to spend enough time with nature...or maybe just because there's no much of nature left in Bangalore anymore...whatever is the reason, it's been long since I've seen a butterfly.... Sometimes I feel like throwing butter out of the window and see it fly... Poor joke..I know... :)

I'd read somewhere about a Butterfly Park in Banerghetta National Park....I think I should have that next on my "to visit" list...Hope to put that up on my next post....

I'm at least lucky that when I was a kid (I grew up in a small village in Tripura) I grew up amidst the nature, lots of free time to observe nature, play and fiddle with its creatures... We loved running behind the colourful butterflies in hope of catching one. Sometimes when we did manage to catch it, we would free it after some time. After all, it had to get back to the nature...

I have a little bit of butterfly in me...I'm colorful, always active, always on the move....and try to keep the world around me beaming with life... :)

I think that's why I sometimes get "butterflies" in my stomach when I'm too excited... !!!!!!

My message to people who are reading this is .."Be a butterfly, spread your wings and take whatever life brings...be true to yourself and be unique...feel the beauty inside you and you will find the joy that you seek.."

Honey, can I have your password?

The answer to this question should be "NO"....

I was just reading an article about youngsters signalling their devotion to their bf/gf by sharing passwords....be it Gmail, Facebook, Twitter or other accounts...Some reason it by saying "it's a sign of trust"... really?? If sharing passwords mean trust then what a Lame Lame world...!!!

Think about this, you and you bf/gf are sharing passwords with each other, say a Facebook account password. For some reason, you guys break up and consider it was a break up which involved heated arguments which turned out to be really bitter....Before you even realise anything, your bf/gf could login to your account and post something which can be shameful and disgraceful. Can be any intimate pictures, messages, anything....By the time you could change your password, the harm would have been done...

One more example of how sharing a password can hamper your relationship....Imagine, there is this random person who sends you a friend request and you accept it seeing that you had one or more "mutual friends". I'm sure you don't think too much before you accept a friend request. What harm could it cause me? is what you'd think.... So, without thinking much, you accept it. And then this random person sends you a dirty message on your inbox or say, posts it on your wall. Your bf/gf happens to login to your account and sees the message... Do you think he/she will consider you innocent, even if you are?? 99% of you would say "No"....

Some time back, almost 6 months ago (maybe more) I had read a true-life incident that had happened in Bangalore. A newly married lady on her marriage night receives a text message on her phone saying "I enjoyed having *** with you" from a random number. The groom happened to read it and he filed for a divorce the very next day even after the lady begged her innocence.

When the number from where the message sent was traced by the Police, it came to light that the guy who sent the message was a Psycho who kept forwarding such messages to random numbers... and the poor lady had to pay the price....

My take on this is- when you are in love, you don't need to share your passwords to prove that you trust each other but rather proved through your actions and the care you have for each other... If you share your passwords it only means that you are insecure and so, there is no point of being in such a relationship....

So honey, please don't ask me for my password and don't give me yours... I trust you and I love you....is what you should be telling each other... :)

Bangalore autowalas - Auto ki saawari..

Bangalore autowalas can also be called as Autow-allah's... They literally behave as if they are God... You have to beg them to go to the places you want to go... and they treat you like they are doing a favor and as if you are traveling for free....they will always demand extra fare..etc etc.. every day you have a new "autowala" story to tell....

I guess I'm not the only one who is saying this...

I can cite lots of instances to prove my point. Only 2 or 3 times out of 10 has been my auto rides been pleasant. I've been in Bangalore for almost 8 years now and things were better those times when I first arrived here. The autowalas were kind, never demanded extra fare and wouldn't refuse to take you to places...

With changing times and Bangalore growing so fast, the attitude of the autowalas have turned out to be arrogant, they demand extra fare to go to places which are not even a kilometer away and the most shocking thing is they refuse to go to certain places. I mean isn't it their job that they have to go to places where a passenger wants to go to and not where they want to go?? I once had to reach M.G Road urgently at a certain time and none of the auto's wanted to go there. Their argument was that they won't get passengers from there. Boss, I'm talking about M.G Road here. If you don't get passengers there, where will you?? I was getting very late and was so frustrated that at last I told to one auto guy "Sir, take me to wherever you are going to, I shall get down at a place which will be nearer to my destination and I would find another auto".........

Not to forget that during rains, these auto drivers will charge you a bomb....

And today, I (along with 2 other friends) had yet another encounter with an autowala. We had to take an auto from the Forum Value Mall to Vydehi Hospital Road which would hardly be 2-3kms. We were getting late and there were more than a dozen autos in the auto stand. None of them agreed to move unless we paid them 100rs which was way too much. Going by the meter rate, it wouldn't cost more than 30rs...All of them demanded the same fare. I was impressed by their unity though...Huh..!! My foot...

We then decided to take another auto which was a bit farther from the auto stand and he too demanded the same fare. I got annoyed and shouted at him and he shouted back at me too..My friends had joined the fight by then...Then when the argument looked a little heated up, we fled from the place before it got worse....

I have also seen many autowalas sleeping in their auto the whole day and when asked if they would take us to the places we want, they demand extra fare and wouldn't budge unless you agree to their rates. If you decide not to take the auto, they would be least bothered and return to their sleeping schedule again.... Never looks like driving an auto is earning bread for them...They prefer sleeping over earning...!!!

Words fall short in describing the annoyance and havoc that the Bangalore Autowalas are causing these days....A system should be in place where the auto drivers are not given the choice of whether they should take passengers to places. The passengers should just be able to sit inside and then tell the driver where they want to go and the driver has no option but to agree. I think in Mumbai this rule applies to the taxis that ply around. The drivers should also be punished if they demand excess fare. I know for a fact that this rule exists but is just not followed.

It's time we join hands to make the auto-ride experience in Bangalore a pleasant one...or else, I think next time you have to take an auto, you'd rather say "allah ke naam pe leja baba"... ..!!!

My nail polish heap

Bright and Colorful defines me best... That's what even my nail polish collection screams out loud... I despise dull and nude colors....that's just not me... I love changing my nail color at least once a week, there's no limit to maximum...

I take the pleasure of showing you my latest nail polish collection....I had a even bigger collection but recently threw away some old ones..  Have a look...

Just came across this on Facebook... "I'm just a crayon in the box....I may not be your favorite color but 1 day you're going to need me to finish your masterpiece..."

Another yellow to my kittie.. :)

Little did I imagine when I mentioned on my birthday invite that "yellow flowers" is a must bring that I will be gifted with such a pretty yellow bag.... I fell in love with it at the first sight...

So, I thought why not show off??? Not necessary that you would like it too, but I absolutely adore it...

Tadddaaaaa.....here it is...another one to my yellow collection.. :)

I thank my friends (Ananya, Anamika and Parlina) for gifting me such a pretty bag.. Love you all... :)

Street Shopping in Bangalore- Dubai Plaza, Bangalore

I'm a shopaholic, I'm sure you know by now, but my wallet doesn't allow me to spend extravagantly. But at the end of the day, I have to look stylish.. after all, who doesn't want to look stylish??

But surviving in Bangalore when you are a shopaholic is not easy. Unlike other cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata where you can street shop and you get good bargains, you will hardly find any cheap stuffs especially clothes in Bangalore... So, I find myself frequenting this particular place in Brigade Road called as Dubai Plaza. It's not a street shop but you can definitely get stylish clothes at "street prices". It's a small complex set up by the Tibetan people and you will find loads of exported clothes at a reasonable price.

When I suggested this place to some of my friends, honestly they didn't find anything good there and I'm talking of friends who know nothing about fashion (no offense, depends on one's own idea of fashion) Let me warn you that "anything stylish means you need to go through some pain". The pain I'm talking about here is "patience" which is a virtue rather than a pain. The shops are stuffy, the complex lacks AC, no ventilation, clothes stacked up, you will end up sweating a lot while you hop from one shop to the other but trust me, hard work always pays....

You can get the best and the stylish of clothes if you search with patience. The clothes, flipons, converse, wallets, accessories, bags, umbrellas that you find here, you will not find anywhere else in Bangalore (at least for that price). You can also get good quality and well fitted jeans in this place. Now, there's a similar type of complex that has been opened in Koramangala, near Jyothi Nivas college. This one is less stuffy and some shops are air-conditioned too..

Another bad thing about this place is that the Tibetan shop keepers are not so bargain-friendly. So don't try bargaining here, the stuffs are cheap anyways. You will find good stuffs (after a lot of searching of course) at a very reasonable price.

One more reason I love this place is because I once saw this very pretty dress online (on some Korean website) but I couldn't order it as they charged a bomb for delivering it to India. And as luck would have it, I saw the exact dress at Dubai Plaza. I did not waste a second to grabbbb it..!!!

As I mentioned before, this place stocks some really good bags, according to the latest trends and are quite affordable and they have a wide range of selection too..

If you love to keep yourself stylish and still keep your finance under control, then this place is definitely worth a visit...!!!

I don't want to Grow Up..!!

When we were kids, we always wanted to grow up and now as adults, we don't want to grow up...I'm at my almost-late twenties and for me, age is just a number and it does not relate in any way to my maturity level.. I'm not ashamed to admit it...

I always wish I had never grown up. I hate when people keep telling me "grow up" when I talk something or do something insensitive (according to them). Why can't people stop bothering me and let me do things that they would have never stopped me from doing had I been a little kid...

While I am writing this, my phone just beeps and I get a forwarded message from a friend. This is what it says:

3 stupid stages of life:
Teenage - you have time and energy but no money
Adults - you have the money and energy but no time
Old age - you have time and money but no energy to perform...!!

I think this is what they call Irony of life...

Growing up makes me sad and depressed. You always have to think before you do anything, say anything. You are expected to behave in a certain way.. It makes me sick inside...

I miss my childhood days when my biggest tension was that my little sister's dress shouldn't be prettier than mine and how to hide my short pants from my brother so that he doesn't wear it. Yes, my bossy elder brother used to end up wearing me and my sister's shorts which mum used to get for us..I hated it...

The biggest fear that I had when I was a kid was when someone tells me "I will tell your mum" whenever I did something naughty...Apart from that, I had no fear, no worries...

And now things are different, you go to attend family functions or any other social functions, all they ask you is "what are you planning to do in life?" "when will you get married?".... "excuse me, can you please let me live the way I want to?" I always wished I could answer back...

Someone rightly said "At childhood we cry loudly to GET what we like...But, when we grow up we cry silently to Forget what we like. That's life....."

But whether you like it or not, all of us have to grow up... we have no choice.. it's all a part of life...

But here's to all the people who wish to be young forever... "Growing old is inevitable but Growing Up is optional.... !!!! Cheers...

Those Farmville Days...

"Sweetheart, I'm alone at home tonight, will you please stay back"??

"No, I can't"

"Why?? anything important that you have to do??"

"Yeah, I have to go. I have to water my plants and harvest my crops. Otherwise, my plants will dry up"

"Oh, I didn't know you started gardening"

"No, stupid. I'm talking about FARMVILLE...Your internet connection is down so I can't stay back. I really have to go....otherwise my crops will die... "  ..saying this, my boyfriend left......

This is a real life incident that happened to me. My then BF was addicted to Farmville. Nothing was more important to him than Farmville. The first thing that he did before he went to work and after he came back from work was to login to Facebook and subsequently to Farmville and then his harvesting, ploughing and selling his crops starts... Gawwwddd... I had started growing jealous of Farmville, he paid more attention to it than me...

Every time we went out and if we happen to meet any of his friends or mine, all he used to say was "hey, if you play Farmville, can you send some gifts out to me? I shall return the favour by sending you one"...

He had even opened up 5 more Facebook accounts (with weird names) so that he could send out gifts to himself...Heights..!!! He even set alarms so that he could harvest his crops in time...

The days he smiled more were the days when he moved one or two levels up in the game.....He definitely suffered from "Obsessive Compulsive Farming Disorder".....

My beauty regime

OK, OK, before I start let me tell you that I'm no beauty expert...and I don't intend to become a beauty blogger too... I don't know A to Z about make up.. I just know the ABCD of it...thanks to my Flight Attendant sister who keeps giving me tips on beauty and make up and tries all her new buy's (cosmetics) on me...... So now I have myself become a mini-expert (or micro-mini expert) on basic everyday make up and therefore, I now list out my top 5 Must-haves on every gal's make up Kittieee... :-
  • I currently I'm using Pond's Oil control skin mattifying facial foam and wash my face twice daily with it. It washes away the dirt on your face and gives your face a matte effect. I rate it 4 out of 5.
  • I then apply Pond's White beauty Daily spotless Lightening cream on my face (since I have an oily T zone and gives it a less oily look) and it makes your skin appear bright and flawless. I keep applying it throughout the day whenever I feel my skin is looking dull.
  • I outline my eyes with the Maybelline Collosal Kajal which is smudge free and lasts almost for 9 hours.
  • On the upper eye lid I currently apply the Lakme Glide on eye colour and my favourite color of this range is "Aqua Green".
  • I apply Vivel Lip Balm which keeps my lips moisturised the whole day, unless I eat something and end up eating up a bit of the lip balm too... :)

See, I told you..I'm no beauty expert.. I just gave a sneak peak into the products I use on a daily basis.. I'm a simple girl and use simple products...Not to forget, I love all of the Pond's products...I have been using Pond's Body lotion for almost 2 decades now..

P.S: Looking good or stylish doesn't mean that you have to use expensive products only....Use what suits your skin the best.. and what is within your budget... I'm no millionaire so I believe in "good things doesn't always come with a high price tag"......

You don’t have to drink so much water…!!!

....I remember as a child, whenever I had stomach problems or skin related problems, all that my mum used to tell me was to drink lots of water. I have read numerous articles where celebrities tell you that the secret to their clear and glowing skin is because they drink lots of water. I have also read somewhere that you should at least drink 6-8 liters of water everyday. Really???? Isn’t that too much to drink??

So, I decided to try it. To be honest, I do try out most of the things I read (yes, I’m my own guinea pig). I once ended up drinking so much water that all I ended up doing was visiting the loo too many times. That’s it… did it help me in any way?? No, is the answer.

I am a kind of person who drinks water only thrice a day (sometimes, 4 or 5 times depending on whether I’m thirsty), once after every meal I have. You need water to digest the food that you had. Trust me that is enough.

I came across this article today on the Times of India website and thought that I should share this with everyone… Below are some excerpts from it… :-

  • Excessive water in your system can dilute your body fluids so much that the sodium levels become life-threateningly low.

  • Due to excessive water consumption, people have died of overhydration, which goes by the name of Exercise-Associated Hyponatraemia (EAH). In simple terms, it means that you have drunk too much water and the excess has diluted your body fluids so much that the sodium levels have become life-threateningly low, causing cells to swell. That includes brain cells leading to loss of consciousness, seizures and even coma and death.

  • The common belief that people should drink eight glasses or two litres of water a day is a 'myth' that needs debunking, a Melbourne academic says. The new Australian recommendations suggest that an adequate daily fluid intake is about 2.8 litres for women and 3.4 litres for men.

  • "If you're feeling thirsty then drink by all means a beverage. It doesn't have to be water"

  • Says an expert, "I'm not saying you shouldn't drink water. I'm saying the need to drink two litres of water on a regular basis is a complete myth."

  • La Trobe University lecturer Spero Tsindos said "Water is important for health, however, the recommendation of eight glasses of pure water a day appears an overestimation of requirements".

  • While there are some conditions that do benefit from drinking increased water, such as in people with recurrent kidney stones, other evidence for preventing disease is conflicting, says McCartney, a medical practioner in NHS.

…..I sign off here saying “drink water only when you are thirsty”…After all, only your body knows what it needs when… :)

I do it.. Do you???

I just buy this new Facewash which is supposed to give me a clear skin and mattifying effect and also make my face glow...

I've waited so may hours for the night to arrive (because I bought it in the morning) and can't wait to use it and see the difference on my not-so clear face...

After dinner, I hurry off to the bathroom, brush my teeth and I'm all ready to try out this new product....

I apply it on my face... and massage the face wash into my face...the foam is formed and then what do you think I do... ???

Nothing.. while I'm still with the foam on my face and my eyes half closed, I am reading the, I don't know what to call it, the same thing like "about me"..in this case"about the facewash".. and I don't know why but I feel so good reading it....Bliss...!!!!

Ha ha ha ha... Were you people thinking that something interesting was coming up???

Sorry but this is it..... !!!!

Do they really "like" when they "like" it on Facebook?

Hmmmm... I've always been "active" on Facebook, to be honest.... I love posting status updates, putting up new pictures, etc etc...c'mon let's be honest, we all love doing it isn't it?? The first thing that comes on my mind when I get my picture clicked is "will it look good on  Facebook ??"

Facebook has become such an integral part of everyone's life these days. Just a few days ago, I read in the news that a girl from IIM-B committed suicide because her bf posted some remarks about her on his wall....Sad..!!! .I think it's time that people understand that  Facebook is a virtual world, it is not meant for you to share your personal things.

No offense but I have seen people saying "I love you" to their husbands/wives on Facebook.. I mean, they can say that in their bed room too, isn't it?? Unless if he/she is away from you and there is no other source of communication other than Facebook?? Why do you want the world to know that you love him/her? I think the only person who should know that you love him/her is he/she....

I personally use Facebook for fun and yeah, when I have some nice pictures to show off..:P... I love posting funny (sometimes inspirational) status updates, some of which are my own and some of which are googled..:) and is only intended to make your day.. :P  ..I know, I know..too much of self praising here..

I'll also be honest in saying that I like when people "like" my pictures or status updates on Facebook...Normal human tendency...

What I fail to understand is when people do "like" your posts or pictures, do they really mean it?? I mean, I have seen people having sooo many "likes" on their pictures even when it was not so good or not even good at all... I have also seen people having more than 2000 friends in Facebook and none in the real world.... This is maybe what people call the "FACEBOOK WORLD".. .In this world, everyone is a star, everyone is pretty...everyone is famous.. :)

There was also this certain joke doing rounds over the net where a girl posts a status update saying "have a slight cold" and there were over 50 comments. When a guy posted a comment saying "had an accident and broke my leg", it had more than 50 likes and zero comments... I pity you guys....!!!!

I sign off here saying... Use Facebook for networking and entertainment but don't make it so important that you lose touch with the real world...Happy Facebooking till then.. :)

My desire list: Mallu sari

August 2012.

Just recently, one of my class mates from college called me up and announced that she is getting married. Yes, to the same guy that she was dating in college. Both are from "God's own country"- Kerala. She said that the marriage would take place in Kerala and I was super excited.

Even after being in Bangalore for more than 7 years, I have never been to Kerala. Yeah, sad I know but it just never happened. I always wanted to spend a day or 2 at the boat houses in Kerala. When I was in a relationship, me and my boy had planned it a couple of times but it never materialised. Now, since I'm single I don't see it happening.. .. Maybe, I can plan a honey moon trip later.. :)

Now, the BIG question is, what do I wear for the wedding????? Mallu Sari I decided......

I have never worn a Mallu sari before so I'm thinking of wearing it this time. The wedding is in November (still long way to go) but I already have a faint image in my mind as to how I want to look....Not to forget, I also would want to wear the white flowers on my hair (gajra)...

But the sad part is that I have just had a hair cut which turned out to be so short that I hardly have any hair at the back side... I wanted to have the Rihanna hair cut and the parlour lady screwed it all up and I had to almost have a boy cut on the back side to get it fixed...ewwwww..now my hair looks like that of Rihanna in the front but if u see me from the back, you will think that I am a guy.. :P

So, I'm just praying that my hair grows long very fast... So that I can wear the Kajras.. Ooops, I meant gajras (the song kajra re kajra re was playing in the background while I'm writing this)....God, I need a miracle...!!!! I need that perfect traditional "mallu" look and I need my hair long...I should have listened to my sister when she asked me not to chop off my hair....But, I am me...I only do what I feel like doing...

Anyways, this is roughly how I want to look... (I googled the image)

I have decided that I'm going to wear a green blouse and green bangles. The lady in the picture here at the left (Nayanthara) isn't wearing the white flowers but I would love to include the white flowers (if my hair miraculously grows long by then)....

Something like this.........

I shall keep you all posted about my look in November.. till then Tadddaaaaa...!!!!

Why does it happen with me??

I don't hate rains, really... But after my recent bad (maybe worst) encounter, I have a Grrrrrr...aaarrghhh feeling towards the rains.. .Read on and you'll know why...

It was my birthday and I had kept a party to celebrate my turning 27 (yes, I'm in my late 20's now). The party was to start 6pm on wards on a Saturday evening. I know 6pm to start a party is too early but thanks to my owner, he had sworn that he'd throw us out if we make too much of noise the next time we party. Not his fault actually, the last month we had partied on my sister's birthday, the noise was so intense that he'd almost thrown us out......So this time we had no option but to choose to keep the volumes low bearing in mind not to compromise on the fun part....

But this is not about the party....it's about what happened before it...

Both me and my sister had woken up early so that we finish all the household chores and  save some time so that we (me actually) could go to the beauty parlour so that I could set my hair. Yes, blame my short hair that I got done recently. After I come out from a bath, my hair looks as if I'd had an electric shock... so I knew if I don't get it set at the parlour, it would be a disaster.

So after working hard rigorously, I finally managed to finish the cooking, cleaning, bath and I just had an hour before my party was to start...I rushed to the parlour and what do I see?? Hell lot of people who had been there before me and who was waiting to be served... Gosh..I remember last time I'd been here, I had to wait 2 hours to get a hair cut done.

This time was no different. I had to wait at least an hour before I could finally get someone to serve me. I didn't want to take risk by going to another parlour, I had to look good and I knew this place would make it worth the wait...!!!

So, my hair was all set and it looked just the way I wanted it to look. But I did lose out a lot of time there. As soon as I was done, I hurried out as if I had a train to catch and why not?? I was already late....

I come out of the parlour and what do I see?? Damn..it started raining..and damn, I was not carrying my umbrella. I'm the kind of person whom you would never find without an umbrella considering the unpredictable weather in Bangalore.. But in a hurry, I forgot to carry it.. Damn, the rain drops had started falling on my "set" hair... I felt like crying...I could hear myself saying out loud shit, shit, shit, shit....Damn, Damn, Damn...!!!

I could not find any shelter near by and I also didn't have the time to wait till the rain stopped. I was getting late already...

When you don't need an auto, you will find them hovering around you and when you need, you won't find any..Same with any thing in life.. You won't find when you most need it... Irony...

2-3 autos did pass by but it was occupied, the rain drops started getting bigger...I needed an auto urgently.. At that moment, finding an auto was like finding an ambulance for me.. It was that crucial.. I couldn't let my "set" hair die.. due to the stupid rain..

And then..I see an empty auto advancing towards my side.. Phew.. without saying a word, I hopped in. "40rs madam", the auto guy shouts back. My place was not even a km away from the place... I fumed with anger and I told him that it's not even a km away and I would pay him only 20rs which was the basic fare. "No madam, give 40rs or get down", he shouted back at me... I argued for some time but when he turned back and shouted at me, I got really scared. He was a dark well built middle aged guy and sounded cruel. I timidly agreed to pay him whatever and just wanted to reach home as fast I possibly could.. Bloody hell.. I abused him... Just not with my mouth..!!!

All's well that ends well.. my hair managed to look okay after a few drops of rain on my hair..I had to set it a little bit but nevertheless, the party was awesoooome.. after a few sips of Vodka, who cares about the hair or how you look?? All that counts is FUN...!!! All that matters is FUN...!!!

5 wonders of the world

This is taken from one of the FB pages (by Cecilia Woody). Hilarious...

5 Wonders of the world...

1) 2 girls sitting quite
2) Wife not asking for money
3) Girlfriend paying the bill
4) Girls going out without make up
5) Boys saying "I love you" to only one girl...

Shadow in the Dark

I have the copyright (forced copyright) to publish this below few lines written by my very close friend. I wonder how people are able to write so well and with such deep intensity... I can never imagine myself as a writer (not that I'm aspiring to be one) but kudos to my dear friend for being able to write so well...

This is how it goes...

A shadow in the dark lingered in the pulsing silence of the night.
Discriminating the right, the wrong's, engulfed in the moonlight.
Sunset to sunrise, life a slow moving aberration in plain sight.
After the darkest years of apparent plight.
I've finally come into the light.
I've finally come into the light.

Searched the farthest corners of a fathomless soul but couldn't find;
Dazed in the maze of a thousand voices, tangled in a bind.
A case of the blind leading the blind, victim of the daily grind.
After years of sight hind, I clearly hear the thoughts in my mind.
At last, I clearly hear the thoughts in my mind.

From ignorance to intelligence, from darkness to the twilight light.
Realization dawned in the early rays of the morning fight.
Dazzling sun, shone over the remnant darkness of a past life of strife.
Eyes awoken-ed to the dawn of a perfect new life.
Eyes opened to the dawn of a perfect new life....

Touching thoughts.. !!

Worries at the start of day means you are still ALIVE...

Clothes that don't fit you means you have a GOOD APPETITE...

Tears in your eyes means there is somebody you CARE for...

The mess to clean after a party means you have FRIENDS around you.....

Roof that needs fixing means you've got a HOUSE....

Taxes to pay means you are not UNEMPLOYED....

Someone messaging or calling you means there is somebody who REMEMBERS you....!!!
